How To Use The Torch Safely

Welding torch also known as welding gun, the role is to mix combustible gas and oxygen, forming a certain energy of the welding flame. The use of welding torch should comply with the relevant requirements of the state. According to the way of combustible gas entering the mixing chamber, it can be divided into suction and isobaric.

To ensure the safety of the welding torch, we should pay attention to the following points:

1, before use, we should check the ejection performance first. First connected to the oxygen tube, access to 1 ~ 4 gauge pressure of oxygen, acetylene does not take control, open the valve of oxygen and acetylene valves, press with finger joints in acetylene inlet pipe, if there is sufficient suction, then shot normal absorption capacity; if there is no suction, or even from the outflow of oxygen, then no radio absorption capacity must be used after repair. The peer-to-peer pressure welding torch shall check whether there is a blockage in its gas path.

2, before use, we should also check the leakage of the welding nozzle and the air valve. Close the valve, insert the torch into the water, and then pass into the oxygen and acetylene respectively. If the water does not appear in the water, it will prove that the air tightness is good.

3, all the gas channels of the torch shall not be contaminated with oil to prevent the oxygen from burning and exploding. At the same time, the joint surface of the welding nozzle should not be bruised to prevent air leakage and affect the use.

4, ignition can start with acetylene hand wheel, ignite acetylene, immediately open oxygen control valve, hand wheel to regulate the flame, and also turn the oxygen control hand wheel slightly open when firing, then start acetylene to adjust the handwheel and ignite immediately. For the safety operation requirements, it is suggested that the former ignition method should be adopted. For the narrow operation space and poor ventilation and several welding torch welding at the same time, in order to improve the environmental sanitation conditions, the latter ignition method can also be adopted.

5. When the use is stopped, the acetylene handwheel is closed first and then the oxygen hand wheel is closed in order to prevent the flame from burning back and producing black smoke. When welder is in operation, if acetylene and oxygen pressure or flow rate change, it can not meet the working requirements. When welding is needed, we must stop welding, extinguish the flame and fire again after being treated. It is forbidden to adjust the flame with the flame to prevent the tempering caused by the fluctuation of the generator pressure and flow.

6, after stopping use, the welding torch should be hung at the right place, or remove the hose and store the torch in the toolbox. It is forbidden to work conveniently without unloading the hose, and permanently connect the torch, hose and gas source.

In addition, the tempering is a flame welding cylinder, welding torch from the catheter to the acetylene and acetylene generator and so on back phenomenon. If tempering occurs during the operation, the oxygen regulating handwheel should be shut down quickly and then the acetylene control handwheel should be closed. After the tempering is extinguished, the welding nozzle is cooled in the water, then the oxygen is opened and the ash in the torch is blown away, and then the ignition is re ignited. In addition, the acetylene hose on the torch can be pulled out in an emergency. Therefore, it is generally required that the oxygen hose must be firmly connected with the torch, and the acetylene hose is connected to the welding torch joint for no air leakage and easy to be connected or pulled down.
